Satay is a dish of skewers (chicken, beef, shrimp ...) marinated in a mixture of peanuts, chilli and spices then cooked on the barbecue. The satay sauce that accompanies these skewers is a sweet and creamy sauce, slightly spicy with the taste of peanuts.

Our AYAM ™ Thai Satay Sauce is flavored with traditional Thai flavors: lemongrass, galangal and tamarind.

It can be eaten as a dip, in a marinade, or even sautéed with meat, and will go perfectly with your BBQ-cooked meat and vegetable skewers!

Our Satay Sauce is made from 100% natural ingredients, which makes it a high quality product. It is lactose and gluten free.

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken fillets, cut into long thin strips

  • 12 wooden or metal skewers

  • 1 red onion, cut into thin strips

  • 1 zucchini, cut into 1 cm slices

  • 1 small red pepper, cut into cubes

  • ¼ cup peanut oil

  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice

  • 2 cups of steamed rice

  • 1 peeled cucumber, to garnish

  • 1 tablespoon of AYAM ™ soy sauce

  • 270ml of AYAM ™ coconut cream

  • 220g of AYAM ™ Thai satay sauce

Preparation:

Grill:

  1. For the chicken skewers, just weave the chicken strips onto 8 skewers. Thread the vegetables, onion quarters, zucchini slices and pepper cubes on the other 4 skewers.
  2. Combine the peanut oil, lime juice and soy sauce and brush the chicken and vegetables with this sauce.
  3. Preheat the grill on high heat. Grill the chicken and vegetable skewers, about 3 minutes per side, until lightly browned for the meat and tender for the vegetables.
  4. Meanwhile, combine the Satay sauce and coconut cream in a small saucepan and stir over medium heat for 3 minutes, until the sauce is reduced and thickened.

Presentation:

When the skewers are ready, serve them on a bed of rice. Spoon the rich sauce liberally and serve the excess in a small bowl. Garnish with cucumbers which complement the hot satay wonderfully.
